Episodes – B-Side Trax – Week of DEC 11th: 2 High School Classmates & Florida State Dropouts Formed One of The Biggest Post Grunge Bands – B-Side Trax …

Initially struggling to get gigs in their hometown of Tallahassee, they set up their own shows in family restaurants.  Wanting to play a ‘real show’, they convinced a local club owner that they could bring at least 200 people.  He liked what he heard and agreed to manage the band &
Creed, one of the biggest post-grunge bands of the 90’s was born !

I wonder what would’ve happened if he’d said no ….

B-Side Trax:

A new concept for radio: a 6-minute featurette that airs once a day, five days a week.  Aside from digging up songs unburnt, there’s also a fascinating, 30-second story behind each track. Because it plays to the ‘Short Attention-Span Theater’ we all have nowadays, the tune-out factor is zero !!

Here’s what aired last week on B-Side Alternative and a link to a recent show:

Monday:                 Scooby Snacks – Fun Lovin’ Criminals
Tuesday:                One – Creed
Wednesday:          Caterpillar – The Cure
Thursday               Lake of Fire – Nirvana
Friday:                   Who Do You Want to Be ? – Oingo Boingo

Many stations use this vignette as a lead-in or the centerpiece for their retro or flashback shows. Some use it as a stand-alone or even combine each week’s shows to form a 30-minute weekend retro feature. That flexibility is a benefit for individual stations to use to their advantage.

Here’s a week on B-Side Classic Rock, plus a show link:

Monday:                Katmandu – Bob Seger
Tuesday:                Destination Unknown – Missing Persons
Wednesday:          Freewheeler – Nazareth
Thursday               The Letter – The Boxtops
Friday:                   All The Girls Love Alice – Elton John
